Depression

Being stuck in a state of depression can make getting the energy to face the day feel impossible. This can be especially true when one cannot identify the source of these feelings, and/or is so consumed with self-hatred and self-doubt that the source doesn’t even matter.

Let’s face it: The world can be a depressing and difficult place. When an estimated 17 million people are depressed in any given year, you can rest assured that you are not alone in your pain. Even though it may feel like there’s just no point, or that nothing can ever change, there is and IT CAN. Although we can’t change the world (unfortunately), we can change how you live in it.

Gaining increased awareness into where your pain arises from can sometimes be relief enough. In addition to exploring the source, it is important to learn how to challenge negative self-talk, to connect with others and oneself, to identify and validate your emotions in a healthy way, to learn how to build compassion and set boundaries, and to do so in a trusting and healthy relationship.

Therapy of all kinds have been shown to be quite helpful in alleviating the crushing weight of depression for many.
